Motivation and Encouragement for Dissertation Writers Across Disciplines

Website Wednesday: Dissertation Haikus

Ok, so I’m slightly obsessed with Haiku poems.

Here’s why these 5, 7, 5 syllable gems are so great:

  • they are short and easy to read
  • they force you to be creative
  • they help you hone your writing skills to be more concise
  • they are fun
  • they are easy to share
  • they don’ take much time to write

Thus, it’s no surprise that I love the Dissertation Haiku Blog where dissertation writers transform their looooong projects into a short haiku.  As the site explains, “Dissertations are long and boring. By contrast, everybody likes haiku.”

Check out the Haiku Blog to learn about how you can submit your own creation – or post your dissertation haiku in the comments section below!
