Welcome to another edition of the TD:D Blog Carnival!
Starting this week, Website Wednesday posts will be combined with blog carnival posts on Thursdays.
Enjoy the posts and make sure to check back next week for another edition.
The Dissertation Life
Three Books For Surviving Graduate School by Adam Ruben
“Graduate students need higher stipends, fewer questions from prying relatives about when they’ll graduate, and more department events with unguarded pastries. You might think the last things grad students need are more books. After all, if you’re in grad school, most of your time is already occupied researching and writing your dissertation — which, of course, is a thick book that no one will ever read.”
Dissertation Digest # 3 by Miss LLA
“until now, i’ve never really been very concerned with the number of words that i write in any given writing session or on any given day or period of days. in fact, until today, i’ve been a little perplexed by those people who were concerned with the number of words they’d written. but now i get it.”
A Dissertation in Pictures: Twitter Edition
After this week’s picture posts, some dissertation writers shared their own experiences through Twitter – see the links below:
evadiva72: “one part of my dissertation stats hanging in my office begging for analysis!”
badjahsensei: “100 articles and studies for mine, printed out, highlighted, and annotated.”
Website of the Week
I was incredibly excited this week to learn about Quilliant, a website that allows writers to form online writing groups and promote their work. The website is still in its beta version, but you can check out a video of the site or take a tour. Once the site is fully up and running, I would love to have a TD:D writers group, so stay tuned…
The TD:D blog carnival is published weekly on Thursdays.
If you would like to submit a post for the TD:D blog carnival, email your link to tododissertation[at]gmail[dot]com by the previous Wednesday at noon.
